1) If you haven't heard yet, Last week in the United States of America, in Boston, MA, a bombing happened. The bombing took place at the end of the Boston marathon. I have been keeping all of Boston in my prayers this week. It has been rather tragic.
The bombers are two men, one passed on and one still alive. The one alive has been captured. They were two teenage boys of a different race then white. I would like to remind you that, just because a person is of an Afghan race, black, Indian, or any other color doesn't automatically make them a killer Skin isn't the cause, it's the person in the skin.
3) Boston was under lockdown all day Friday due to an early morning gun riot.
4) The baltimore area had some shootings near the park. Remember people, keep your doors locked and windows shut. Always have a phone on.
Gun violence is something that cannot be easily controlled. In fact, once it is controlled, it tends to do the opposite. However, safety is the most important thing. There are a few ways to remain safe:
2) Always keep your firealarms working and check them regularly.
3) If you live in the city, it is necessary to keep doors locked and don't let anybody you know in!
4) Sadly, we don't have wands, but calling the police will help, so have your phone on you! (If you aren't trained to fight a robber)
5) I cannot stress enough.. do not go out alone at night. If you have to, carry a whistle or a safety horn.
6) The news also suggest to talk your kids and ask them how they feel about it. If anything is bothering them, make sure they get some help!
